I happen to use it on very sheer nylon for grooming smocks, so it converts my straight shanked Brother and Singer machines into sergers very easily. I know Singer has a heavier duty side cutter and plan to purchase it for future heavy weight sewing, but for now, this is the product that I will be using. You will need to read the instructions in order to get it to work the first time as I just expected it to go to work automatically. NOT! It's wonderful for the price for lightweight materials and I would recommend it for the hobby to advanced sewer who does not want to purchase a serger right away.

Singer DF150 Adjustable Dress Form, Sizes 10-16, Red Review

(More customer reviews)I like my Singer DF150 Adjustable Dress Form. The felt cover will be great for draping, since fabrics really cling to it and I am very impressed with the hem guide. It is somewhat difficult to adjust the height, but not impossible, and much easier if you take the body off the stand first. I bought this small dressform based on my three primary measurements (33-25-38), but I was disappointed to discover that her underbust at smallest is 28 1/2 inches, about 1 1/2 inches larger than mine, so dresses I've made to fit me will not zip up on her. Also, her shoulders are 15" wide, and neck 13 1/2" around, at the least. So much for using this form for fitting my truly small upper body. At least I can use her for hems, when I make dresses for some of my friends, and I can even adjust her to her larger settings to fit my fiancé's measurements (He wears a 40R jacket).

(More customer reviews)I bought this because it was the only one I found that did not look like the grandma print roller bags. Only con about this is the telescoping handle's location, I would have rated this 5 star if it was located on center and not on the side as this creates inbalance due to the weight of the machine--it's annoying to set it down then turn it in the correct position for lifting. In my laziness I tried to see if I could close the telescoping handle and carry it that way, and it's not possible--so don't try it, but this did prove that this bag is pretty durable. I read as many reviews as I could for this bag and there wasn't much as all (like a total of 4 or 5 per googling, so I hope at least this much helps.

(More customer reviews)This product doesn't even deserve one star! I bought this for something simple and easy...what a BIG MISTAKE!! It's more trouble than it is worth! The hems don't hold up, it's a pain to finish a hem so it doesn't unthread on me, it's hard to control any real direction AND did I mention that it just plain SUCKS? I feel like I am all thumbs while trying to use it. It's now in the dumpster because I wouldn't even GIVE it away!!! Coming from the name Singer, I was a bit surprised of the bad quality :((

(More customer reviews)I bought this cabinet about 5 years ago. I have really enjoyed using it and it is still like new. I have more than one sewing machine, so I decided to buy another. It is a great cabinet for the money. It takes a 2-3 hours to assemble. The instructions are fairly clear. I made one mistake assembling it, by installing the bottom shelf with the unfinished edge "showing". When the cabinet is closed, you cannot see that, so I'm leaving as is, rather than disassembling it. All the parts required, were included. The box was clearly marked "fragile, do not drop", so all components were in good condition.

Singer Knitting Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a grown-up who loves toys and gadgets. Thought this looked interesting. Yeah, I read the "cheap plastic, too small, frustrating, etc), I'm also a "see for myself" type. Glad I am, because I am having an absolute blast.
It is a toy, not made for production. It takes a while to get started and understand what it and you are doing. I ripped it out about 3X before I got successful results.
The directions and pics are not as good as they could be, but you can figure it out after studying the movements-don't worry it's not calculus.
I wouldn't recommend for a child unless an adult goes through the whole thing first, since I could see the frustration it would create, but don't worry adults, you do not NEED any prior knitting knowledge it's that easy.
I would suggest not using the yarn that comes with it until later. Pick up some regular ol yarn and use that first. That way you can see what's going on. The fuzzy stuff will obscure your view and be more difficult to rip out. One other thing, remember, it is plastic, use a light touch or it will break.
For what it's worth, there are similar ones on the market-they're all basically the same. I preffered this one because it felt more substanital and it sits upright. I can set it on my lap while doing it and the results caome out the back. The others were like buckets that need to be used on a flat surface where the knitting comes out the bottom with little clearance so you have to contstantly adjust the tension, not difficult per se, just more to pay attention to.
Give it a try, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I am having a good time turning out swatches.

Singer Inspiration 4210 Sewing Machine Review

The replacement 4210 sent to me directly from Singer is a VAST improvement over the 4210 I bought in Spring 2007. It's very obvious that the model has had improvements over the past two years of continued manufacture. I've put the new 4210 through its paces and am well pleased with it! What a relief!

I've been sewing for 30 years on an old model Singer, and am an experienced seamstress. I bought this for the features my vintage Singer doesn't have, such as zig-zag stitches, stitching for stretch knits, and buttonhole stitching.
I've had problems from the start with the 4210. The "birdnesting" problem with the bobbin if the machine is not threaded under tension is ridiculous, and documented on Singer's support site. Having to purchase specific bobbins is just wrong. Making buttonholes is not the piece-of-cake that is claimed. It's not intuitive how to change presser feet. The bobbin case jams repeatedly. When using four layers of lightweight cotton and stitching them, birdnesting occurs; you can pretty much ruling out sewing any heavy or thick fabrics with this machine. Birdnesting also occurs when stitching stretch knits. The tension lever doesn't seem to have any effect on tension at all. I could go on and on.
I've called Singer support and they've offered to give me a new 4210 and send this problem one back. I'll take them up on that, and hope that in the two years since I bought my 4210 some of these problems may have been worked out in manufacturing. We'll see.

The lid hinges break easily and won't stay on once broken. Once that happens, you won't be able to close the case without spilling its contents all over the place.

They often advise against getting it from only unless it is that trusted brand. Brother SA212 Serger Elastic Application Foot Review

(More customer reviews)Well first off the little instructions that came with the foot are LACKING, and than the foot its self was kind of dissapointing, it doesnt put much tension on the elastic so you still need to put gentle tension on the elastic. I have decided to make a casing for elastic instead of using the foot whenever possible but its better than a zig zag.

(More customer reviews)Cheaply made. Extremely small overall size. Has 24 pegs for spools of thread, but since they are way too close together, they won't hold regular sizes of spools. Came with 24 TINY spools of thread that won't last very long. Came with quite a few notions, but the straight pins weren't in a box. I could hear them rattling when I got the package. When I opened the box, pins were everywhere, and fell out all over the floor. The only really useful notion is a needle threader that comes with a magnifying glass. Came with bobbins for some reason, already loaded with thread. Of course the bobbins don't work with my machine and since you need to fill a bobbin with the thread you're using, these bobbins are useless. If this kit had cost $5.95, it would have been too expensive, but a little more reasonable for the quality of the product.
